Some patients are used to going to the Emergency Room in the evenings or on weekends as their previous practices did not provide the extended hours that PHA does.
- three (3) offices open from 6:00pm to 9:00pm weekday nights
- three (3) offices open on weekends
- Our group is also on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for any emergencies
Therefore, unless you have an absolute emergency where you must go to a hospital immediately, always call us first at (203) 452-8322. Often we can see you in one of our offices quickly and efficiently.
If you do call our office during regular office hours, hit our emergency button, option #1.
If you call after hours, our answering service will pick up. Do not let the receptionist or answering service put you on hold. If you are put on hold, hang up and call back immediately.
We may be able to handle the crisis, or it may be necessary to refer you directly to the hospital.
For any severe emergency, such as a severe reaction to peanuts or difficulty breathing, CALL 911 and go directly to the hospital. Do not come to the office.
Bridgeport Hospital is our preferred hospital for emergency care. Again, to ensure the best continuing medical treatment for your child, we urge you to call your pediatrician before going to either a walk-in medical center or an emergency room for care.
If your child has come in contact with poison or you suspect that your child may have swallowed something and has mild or no symptoms, call Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.
