Sleep Pattern Changes in Toddlers

1-3 years
Toddlers generally sleep 12-14 hours/night with 1 daytime nap (1.5 hours on average).  An early bedtime with a consistent routine (ie: bath, brush teeth, books, bed) that does NOT include screen time will create the basis for a healthy sleeper!  Bedtimes should be moved up a bit as toddlers can sleep for 12-14 hours uninterrupted.  Beyond 12 months, babies should be sleeping in their own space and be moved into a room outside the parent’s room.  At this time a baby monitor may be used for any nighttime needs.
